In the background of this picture is Guardamar Hill with the cranes - this area is earmarked for quite a lot of new property but with the economic slump the construction activity here has come to a virtual standstill.

Looking down the Calle Mayor again from the shadows of the pavement - this time away from the town centre.

The building with the blue walls has only recently been renovated - these building soon need a overhaul - it must be hard work getting all the residents to agree to pay for the improvements.

The blue and white pedestrian crossing can be lethal to wobbly legs when it has rained - very very slippery !!! Like ice !!!

Real Madrid - More spending !!!

Yet another big spend on the transfer market by Real Madrid.

In a £35m deal French international the 21 year old Karim Benzema has moved from Lyon to Madrid .

He is reported to have rejected offers from Barcelona, Manchester United and Inter Milan.

Let's hope he is worth the cash .....

Until a recently sand dunes with a few trees solely used by dog walkers - this area has been improved with walkways, lighting , benches and flower beds. A good example of what can be done on a limited budget to improve the area.

Well it looks like a water tower to me but I'm not sure what it is - at the Cuartel de Artilleria in Murcia.

This is the problem when you visit somewhere without a decent guidebook - it's not always possible to put a name to something you have photographed.

Very ornate anyway ....

I think that the intention is that they are illuminated at night.
