Quiet Sunday morning - well not actually quiet it was Palm Sunday.

Is it hot enough ?

The people of Madrid the madrileños will soon find their weather getting extremely hot - temperatures heading to 100F. ( 38C. )

No doubt they will be heading for the cooler climes of Guardamar where the temperature will reach a maximum of 88F. ( 31C. )

The breezes from the sea will make sitting on the beach very pleasant.

Here in the UK today will see a maximum of 64F. ( 17C. ) if we are lucky .. this is a great improvement on recent days. It is still raining so no sitting in the garden.

I hope it is not too late to show some photos of the Easter parades around Guardamar. These religious displays attract many people and are a "must watch" event in the town.

A trono is taken with great care from the church entrance.

Crowds gathering - the actual parades can take up to two hours to pass - bring your own chair !!

Torrevieja - Feria del Libro

For the past few years an annual book sale has been situated on the sea front of Torrevieja near to the harbour entrance.

Mainly Spanish books but you can find some in English as well.

It would appear that Spain and her cucumbers - latest information - is not the source of the E.coli outbreak in Germany.

This good news for Spain will not help the farmers who have had to destroy their crops due to a lack of demand. No doubt sales of salad vegetables produced in all European states will drop dramatically and producers will suffer.

Further investigation continues in Germany to find the source as the death toll rises.

The tourist industry in Germany must be badly hit by now I would imagine.

I just hope that the source is not traced back to the UK ....
