ABC Wednesday - B for Boatyard

B for Boatyard

They seem to keep quite busy here at the boatyard in Guardamar's marina.

Always something going on - boats being taken out of the water for repairs and whatever they do with boats. It's a busy little place -  always some action.

ABC Wednesday - A for Arcos

A is for Arcos de la Frontera in sunny Andalusia southern Spain. One of the many " White Villages " ( Pueblos Blancos ) visited so much by the hordes of tourists en-route from Ronda to Jerez or Seville.

Here away from the red hot midday sun is a quiet corner with some shade - a welcome relief.

N is for a night scene here in Guardamar.

At Autonautica the boats are lined up for lucky buyers who have the ready cash or credit card.

Expensive hobby I would think.

ABC Wednesday - M for Me

Today the M is Me...

I did not realise that this photo was being taken using the  " solarize setting ". I was only a few months later when looking through my photographs that I realise it was there and I thought that it was quite good - unusual anyway...

ABC Wednesday - I for Intruder

I is for Intruder - my dictionary states that an intruder is a person who enters a place without permission.

I guess that no one gave permission for this to occur !  Looks like a car or lorry has hit the wall.

This shop or bar is part of a newly built apartment block opposite the rio Segura in Guardamar and is waiting to be sold or rented out.

With the building crisis as it is in Spain I can not see the builder rushing back to make repairs ! 

We'll have to see how long it takes to repair ......... ???

ABC Wednesday - E for Elche

Elche is famous for shoe production and .......

....... Elche is famous for the palm trees that are grown all around the town - you'll find not only parks and displays but plantations of the things.. If you are an avid lover of palms then Elche is the place to go. 

Not too far from Alicante on the Spanish Costa Blanca

The palm was introduced to Elche by the Arabs who conquered and settled in Spain in the early Middle Ages .

Palm Sunday in Spain and the odds are that the palm leaves in the church will have come from Elche.

A pleasant place to wonder through - a whole day could be spent there ..
