The story of our adventure in Spain



In October 2002 we purchased a holiday flat in Guardamar on Spain's Costa Blanca - not far from Alicante and Torrevieja and we try to spend a good part of the year in Spain.

This blog hopefully will contain our thoughts and impressions of Spain - the good and the bad and lots and lots of photographs of not only Guardamar but the rest of Spain as we eventually get to explore it.

Strike Ballot


August Bank Holiday weekend may see travellers from Manchester to Spain with severe travel disruption if they are thinking of taking the plane.

Baggage handlers, cleaners and aircraft re-fuellers are in dispute over pay and are being balloted over strike action for the holiday weekend.

300 workers are employed by Swissport, Rentokil Initial and ASIG and are members of the Unite Union .

The dispute centres over plans to impose a wages freeze.

Let's hope that the strike does not go ahead on one of the busiest weekends of the year.
