The story of our adventure in Spain

In October 2002 we purchased a holiday flat in Guardamar on Spain's Costa Blanca - not far from Alicante and Torrevieja and we try to spend a good part of the year in Spain.

This blog hopefully will contain our thoughts and impressions of Spain - the good and the bad and lots and lots of photographs of not only Guardamar but the rest of Spain as we eventually get to explore it.

ABC Wednesday - J for Jetty

J is for Jetty - my offering this week after a lot of thought and searching of photographs on iPhoto.

In Spanish el Malecón

Here at Guardamar Port is the jetty where the local fishermen - pescadores - moor their boats . They are actually moored on the rio Segura - the entrance to the marina proper with all the private leisure boats is just out of the picture.

In the distance is another form of jetty - the breakwater which guards the marina entrance and the river from the sea.

A busy little area - sea anglers can be found any time of the day on the breakwater - I assume there must be fish in abundance.

I can't believe I didn't have jetty as I'm near one. Great choice.

A wonderful photo, and it's so nice that we get to know so many countries, nationalities and traditions by simply blogging!
