This monument " sings the praises " of the local Torrevieja singers who are famed for their songs of the sea.

In theory you should be able to see this rather strange statute sitting in the harbour waters without too much problem - however when walking along it is quite easy to miss or ignore.

For the past few years an annual book sale has been situated on the sea front of Torrevieja near to the harbour entrance.

Mainly Spanish books but you can find some in English as well.

As an outsider looking in I guess the whole process generates as much interest as in the UK - very little ....

Part of the Torrevieja " tart up " of the shopping centre - streets have been smartened up and new lighting installed.

All in the hope of attracting the tourist and their hard earned dosh.

For those not familiar with English slang - dosh is money !!
