The story of our adventure in Spain



In October 2002 we purchased a holiday flat in Guardamar on Spain's Costa Blanca - not far from Alicante and Torrevieja and we try to spend a good part of the year in Spain.

This blog hopefully will contain our thoughts and impressions of Spain - the good and the bad and lots and lots of photographs of not only Guardamar but the rest of Spain as we eventually get to explore it.

Madrid


Well we have just returned from another extended trip to Spain and can report that the seaside resorts of the Costa Blanca are still very quiet - not much economic activity during the current CRISIS ..

This time we enjoyed our first internal Spanish flight from Alicante to Madrid using Ryan Air and a very comfortable trip it was - just under one hour journey time.

Madrid centre is still busy with lots of people thronging the shopping centres and theatres late until the night though there are a lot of people living rough on the streets and sleeping in the metro stations ( perhaps this was a common sight even before the current economic crisis I do not know ! )

If you ever have a few days to spare while in Spain I would recommend a visit to Madrid - so much to see and do ..
